SHIFT LEADER (Full Time)
We’re looking for a people-first, hands-on Shift Leader to join the team at Sprout. Someone who leads by example, keeps standards high, and helps make every shift run smoothly.
Exciting news.....Sprout is coming Northside! 💚
We’re opening our brand-new Clontarf restaurant later this Autumn, and we’re starting to build the brilliant team of leaders who’ll help bring it to life.
A quick note before you apply: We’re getting ahead of the game for our Autumn opening, so we’ll begin reviewing applications and reaching out to candidates from early October. This role is for full-time availability only.
At Sprout, our Shift Leaders play a big role in how our restaurants feel, for both our team and our customers.
You’ll help lead the shift from the front, keep things moving when it gets busy and make sure the team feels supported and customers feel looked after.
This is a great role for someone who enjoys people, takes responsibility and wants to start developing as a leader.
Reporting to: Restaurant Leader
Contract: Full-time
Pay: €15–€16 per hour, depending on experience and role
What you get
Free lunch every day you work, and 50% off Sprout for you + 3 friends at other times (we want you to be healthy)
Real opportunities to grow, we love promoting from within
Leadership development through Sprout University
Regular team socials, celebrations and leadership events
The chance to help shape the culture and performance of your own restaurant
A supportive leadership team that genuinely cares about doing things well
Additional supports such as Bike to Work scheme, free virtual GP appointments and Employee Assistance Programme
Flexibility, autonomy, and the chance to build something meaningful from the inside out
What you’ll do
Lead the shift
Help set the team up for success, make sure everyone knows their role and keep things moving throughout the shift. When it gets busy, you’ll be right there with the team.
Create a great customer experience
Make sure customers feel genuinely welcome and looked after. Step in when something hasn’t gone right and help turn the experience around.
Support the team
Be someone the team can turn to during the shift. Communicate clearly, give real-time feedback and help people build confidence in what they do.
Keep the energy right
Help create a restaurant that feels good to work in — good communication, teamwork, recognition and a bit of fun along the way.
Protect our standards
Keep an eye on food quality, portioning, presentation, cleanliness and the overall look and feel of the restaurant.
Keep the restaurant ready
Stay on top of checklists, fridge displays, cleanliness and the little jobs that keep the restaurant running smoothly.
Listen and take action
Pay attention to customer feedback, spot recurring issues and share what you’re seeing with your Restaurant Leader so we can keep getting better.
Champion safety
Help make sure food safety, hygiene and health & safety standards are understood and followed throughout the shift.
You’ll probably love being a Shift Leader at Sprout if...
You naturally step in when something needs to get done
You enjoy being around people and helping others
You like a busy environment and can stay calm when there’s a lot happening
You’re comfortable giving someone a bit of feedback when they need it
You notice the small things and care about getting them right
You’re reliable and someone your teammates can count on
You’re curious, open to feedback and want to become a better leader
You bring good energy and aren’t afraid to get stuck in
If you’re looking for a leadership role where you can stand back, avoid difficult conversations or leave problems for someone else to sort, this probably isn’t the one.
A little about experience
We’d ideally like you to have around 1 year’s experience in hospitality or another fast-paced environment.
You don’t need to have been a manager before. What matters most is that you’re ready to take more responsibility, can communicate confidently with the team and customers, and genuinely want to develop your leadership skills.
If you’re ready to step up, lead from the front and help make every shift a great one, we’d love to hear from you.
I think this version is stronger than the original because it removes the overlap between Who You Are and What We’re Looking For, and makes the role feel much more like a genuine first leadership step rather than a mini Team Leader role.
